Insert images to your post

 
 
It is very common to insert images to your post to make your post attract user eyes. Matrix Writer allow you insert images quickly and also provide convenience features to layou your pictures.

Insert local images

To insert images into your post, there are two ways

  1. Quick way is click the "Add Images" button in the toolbar
  2. Click "Picture" under "Insert" menu

After that the insert image dialog will popup as below, click "Choose local file" button, a file browser will popup, after confirm the dialog, the thumbnails of selected images will show in the dialog. Click OK button will insert these images to your post. 

Move the mouse hover over a thumbnail, the image information will show up, here you can see the file name and file size, click the trash button will remove it from current selection. 

Insert images from web

By clicking "Image Link" you can insert a image from the internet, copy the url of image and paste it the source input box, then click "+" button add this image to the list. 

Advanced features

Click the expand button on the right side of the  Settings header will show advanced settings for the images, here is the details

Description: description will  show as a tooltip, when user's mouse hover over the image, the description will show.

Dimensions: limit the images display size.

Spaces: set the spaces between images in horizontal and vertical direction.

Columns: by default the columns value 1, that means images will display one by one in vertical direction. By setting this value the pictures will display in an album layout.

Connect to your blog trhough XML-RPC

Matrix Writer support WordPress and Google Blogger's RESTful API, that is the best way that these two blog services recommended. Before RESTful API, there are many blog service use XML-RPC as the primary way to allow third party tools publish posts to blog on behalf of user. Matrix Writer supports this XML-RPC as well.  Below is an example of using XML-RPC connect to your WordPress blog. It's same for other blog services which support XML-RPC.
